A little about us…
Guji began in late 2023 when I started the business alongside my sister Sarah, with a simple goal — to share the very best of Ethiopian cuisine with the community here in Melbourne, and to showcase our mum’s incredible injera bread, which sits at the heart of everything we do.
Our journey started at our very first market stall at the Carlton Farmers Market in August 2023. Since then, we’ve spent most weekends trading at markets and festivals across the city, introducing more people to Ethiopian food and the traditions behind it.
Today, I run Guji together with my husband Aleks, though at its core, Guji will always be a family business built on shared recipes, culture, and care.
As we continue to grow, our focus is on catering and our injera bakery — continuing to share our love of Ethiopian food with more people and occasions.
Everything we serve is made fresh, flavour-packed, and prepared with intention. Ethiopian cooking is often a labour of love, and we believe great food takes time — we never take shortcuts. Our goal is always to exceed expectations and create memorable food experiences, with customer satisfaction at the centre of everything we do.
